What does EV window tinting cost in Brisbane?

Straight answer: quality ceramic window tint in Brisbane runs from about $390 for rear glass only to about $1,190 for full coverage including windscreen film on a large SUV. Most EV owners choose full-car ceramic at $650–$730.

For an EV the film choice matters more than the price: metallised films can interfere with GPS, connectivity and keyless entry. We fit metal-free ceramic IR film only — full signal strength, serious heat rejection, and the air-con load drops enough to show up in your consumption figures on a Brisbane summer day.

What moves the price

Coverage

Rear-only, full car, or full car plus windscreen. The windscreen is the single biggest heat gate on the car — clear ceramic film there changes January driving more than any other single panel.

Glass area

A Dolphin and an EV9 carry very different glass real estate, so pricing scales with vehicle size — transparently, in the quote, not at pickup.

Film quality

Dyed film fades purple and blocks little heat; metallised film kills signal; nano-ceramic film does neither. We only fit ceramic — it's why our floor price isn't $200.

Legal limits

QLD requires 35% VLT on front sides, 20% behind (excluding utes/vans rear). We fit within legal limits and windscreens get clear film only — no roadworthy surprises.

Common questions

Does tint actually improve EV range?

Indirectly, yes. Less cabin heat means the air-con works less, and air-con is one of the biggest non-driving loads on an EV battery. On hot Brisbane days owners genuinely see the difference in consumption.

Will tint interfere with GPS, 5G or my phone key?

Not with the right film. Metal-free ceramic film rejects heat via nano-ceramic particles, not metal — GPS, connectivity and keyless entry stay at full strength. This is the single most important spec for tinting an EV.

What tint is legal in Queensland?

Front side windows must allow at least 35% of light through (VLT), rear sides and rear window at least 20% for most passenger cars. Windscreens may only take clear film. We fit within these limits as standard.

How long does tinting take?

Two to three hours for most cars. Pairing tint with ceramic coating in one visit is our most popular combination — one drop-off, both jobs.
